Mahabaleshwar is the very beautiful place which is located in Satara district of Maharashtra. It is the very famous and largest Hill station in Sahyadri range of Maharashtra. The supernatural Hill station of Mahabaleshwar is situated at an altitude of 1372 m above sea level. It is about 115 km southwest of Pune.

Mahabaleshwar is growing as famous holiday resort, honeymoon spot , and favorite weekend spot which can be easily accessible from Pune as well as Mumbai. The commercialization has affected the hill station and resorts in north and south India. But, Mahabaleshwar offers a clean, calm , and thoroughly refreshing ambiance.

  • Kate’s Point

It is the greatest point which is located to the east of Mahabaleshwar. It is around 1280 meter high . It has got its name from Sir James Malcom’s daughter Kate, who developed liking for the place. The point is very famous for its two reservoirs Balakwadi and Dhom

  • Wilson Point

Wilson point is one of the famous point of Mahabaleshwar. It is the highest point which is located at 1439 m . It is the only location where both sunrise and sunset can be seen . It is named after Sir Wilson who was the Governor of Bombay.

  • Needle- Hole Point

This point is located near Kate’s Point. There is a natural rock formation with a hole in Needle in between, thus it is named as Needle-hole. This point is very famous for the view of Deccan traps which look like an elephant trunk.

  • Arthur’s Point

This is a point which is located at an altitude of1340 m. This was named after sir Arthur Mallet. It is one of the famous Point in Mahabaleshwar, which offers a beautiful views to the tourists.

Mahabaleshwar does not have any airport but the nearest airport from Mahabaleshwar Pune airport which is about 120 km from this place and Mumbai airport which is about 270 km.

  • By Train

The nearest railroad from Mahabaleshwar is Satara which is around 58 km. Mahabaleshwar is not directly connected with railway network. Pune railway station is also nearer railway station. There are many private buses and mini buses are available from Pune to Mahabaleshwar.

  • By Road

Mahabaleshwar state transport corporation runs buses from Nashik, Mumbai, Satara, Kolhapur, Pune and Panchgani. There are also private bus operators like Neeta Travelers, Saini Travelers who run buses on daily basis.
